![]() ![]() Finding anything that taxes video heavy in Inventor will either hang up the remote session for 15-60 seconds but if it hangs for more than a minute it's hung permanently. Everything works GREAT except Inventor and Inventor works great except for the orbit command.Īny still no help from anyone. Have my color depth set low on the remote session (16bit) and have connection speed automatic. Sometimes the mouse pointer never changes back and I have to shut down my remote session and reconnect to get control back. after a while the icon changes back to my pointer and the model is well out of the position I wanted. The model will spin a little more and the pointer still the orbit icon, and while it is the orbit icon I cannot click on anything or work in another app. I can move my mouse to my other monitor and it's still the little orbit icon. The model will jump and spin a few more times. My mouse pointer remains the little orbit icon. It might spin a little, stop, jump and spin a little more, then stop, then a little more, and I left go of F4. When I hold down F4 my mouse pointer changes to the little orbit icon, I hold down my left mouse button and spin. I am active in Inventor and since my 3Dconnexion mouse can't be used remote (another topic) I HAVE to use F4 to orbit the model. I have Inventor maximized on one monitor and use the other for Office, browser, etc. I am running remote desktop in dual screen mode with two monitors at work and two at home and use both just like I was at work. At different times it still hangs on other large assemblies. I'm thinking I was a little premature in saying it was that one large assembly. We can connect using SolarWinds Take Control and we don't have that lag or choppiness but we're very limited in resolution and can only see one screen at a time.Īny hints or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. We also have Enable Pointer Shadow turned off on our workstations and local PC. ![]() We have the RTD speed set to auto-detect and we have played games with speed, color depth, use both monitors, turning off effects, everything but it's still choppy. So we do it again and again until we end up moving soooooo slow a snail would blow by us but if it buffers it changes our view. And the rotating we were doing seems to of buffered some mouse motion so even though we let go of the F4 key, the jumps a couple more times to some new viewpoint, not where we wanted to be. While the orbit icon is our pointer we can't do anything. It moves very choppily in steps, when we get to where we feel we need to be we let go of the F4 key BUT the orbit icon stays on our mouse pointer from a couple seconds to a minute or more. When we press the F4 key and get the orbit pointer, we move the mouse and rotate the assembly. Even though we are high speed internet at work and home and everything else seems to work fine, we have issues with this. When we hold down the F4 key we get the little orbit icon on our mouse pointer and we move around. An issue we've been having is lag and buffering. But because of this our only option for orbit (which we use several times or more a minute) is to use F4 and our mouse to rotate around. We have yet to find a way to use a 3Dconnexion 3D mouse remote but still searching. We are working remote running Inventor 2020 on Windows 10 machines at work and home running Windows RDP and SonicWall NetExttender. ![]()
